Who we are

American Ukraine Committee exists so that Americans who support Ukraine can be effective with Congress. Not loud. Effective.

We are a bipartisan 501(c)(4) membership organization. We represent American citizens, not the Ukrainian government, and we do not coordinate with any foreign government.

The campaigns we are running now

Russia sanctions. The Sanctioning Russia Act is law. The fight now is making the administration carry it out: designations, waivers, enforcement.

Aughinish Alumina. A Russian-owned refinery in Ireland still trades outside sanctions, and we are asking Treasury and Congress to close that door.

Ukraine’s F-16s in Belgium. The U.S. Air Force pays Sabena Engineering of Brussels $235.8 million to keep Ukraine’s F-16s flying, over half sit grounded for months at a time, and AmUkr is taking that to Congress.

Russian incursions into NATO territory. A monthly brief for Hill staff: this month’s incidents by type, and the running total since February 2022.

Frozen Russian assets. Russian money, not American taxpayers’, should pay for Ukraine’s defense and reconstruction.

U.S.-Ukraine military cooperation. The Pentagon should be learning from what Ukraine’s drone factories already know.

How a supporter becomes a Super Advocate

The job is to move a person from “cares about Ukraine” to “has the Chief of Staff’s cell number.” Three rungs do that: Member, Advocate, Super Advocate. See how it works, and join.

Everything else we do — the research, the Congressional Report Card, the Legislation Tracker, the newsletter, the PAC — exists to find these people, arm them, and multiply them.

How we measure success

One number above all: substantive meetings between Super Advocates and Congressional offices on real policy. Behind it sit the funnel numbers — emails on the list, actions to Congress completed, active Super Advocates, donors. We also count the AmUkr policy asks that end up in law, in regulation, or in a letter from Congress.

Two organizations, one purpose

American Ukraine Committee (amukr.org) does the research, the policy, the training and the direct contact with Congress. American Ukraine PAC (amukrpac.org) is a separate federal PAC that uses campaign finance to build the relationships our Advocates then use. They share a mission and nothing else: separate books, separate data, separate rules.
