House Introduces Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026, With 17 Bipartisan Co-Sponsors!
On August 7th, the Senate finally passed the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026.
Yesterday, the bill was officially introduced in the House!
The bill is passed in the Senate. Now it needs your support in the House.

86 ‘Yea’ votes, 11 ‘Nay’ in the Senate
That was the result of the Bipartisan vote to pass the ‘Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026’ in the Senate, under the bill H.R. 5334.
Only the following Senators voted ‘Nay’ on the passing of the bill. Mostly Democrats, they rejected the bill mostly on the premise of its expansion of President Trump’s tariff powers, not Ukraine.

We respect such policy reservations and agree that no complex legislation is entirely perfect. However, we believe this package remains vital: cutting off the revenues funding Kremlin aggression will directly save civilian and military lives on the front lines. Enacting these energy sanctions projects decisive American leadership to the world, while protecting U.S. business and energy exports from being undercut by illicit Russian energy on global markets.
Tariffs in-line with the provisions laid out in the Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026, would further protect global democratic security, by punishing the Russian aggressor state, its actors, and its allies.

The bipartisan nature of the bill represents a significant development, and is the exact reason behind the immediate momentum to introduce the bill’s companion, H.R. 10076, in the House.

The Co-Sponsors represent a bipartisan, 9D /8R even party split. This is a significant advantage for the bill, resistance to which as in the Senate, is party oriented around some Democrats’ resistance to give greater tariff powers to the Trump administration.

said Rep. McCaul, in a statement announcing the introduction of the bill in the House.
“As President Zelensky told me last month when I visited Ukraine, he is ready for a ceasefire — ready to negotiate, as he has been for years. Putin, on the other hand, consistently defies President Trump and the international community by refusing to come to the table. I can think of no better way to honor Senator Graham’s life and legacy than by passing these tough sanctions, which will help force Putin into negotiations and bring us closer to securing Lindsey’s vision of enduring peace in two critical regions of the world.”
